Introducing Owain Matthews

RAD Coach, Athlete, Husband and soon to be Father

We have so many great customers using RAD and sharing their stories. We highlight a few of them on social media from time to time but felt it was time to give them a permanent place on our web page.

We are jumping off with Owain Matthews and will be featuring more in the coming weeks.

He earned an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Tulsa where he took his passion for his own performance and leveraged it to fuel his passion for sport science. He continued pursuing his passions through practical application in a career as a physical education teacher while lowering his 5k/10k times getting to PBs of 14:27/30:29 respectively. 

He found triathlon when he moved to Australia. With a strong pedigree in athletics he found success early and has been applying his work ethic and his sports science background to grow as an athlete and coach. He has support from the Balmoral Triathlon Club, his coach Bruce Thomas, several other sponsors and wife Dani.

He is currently expecting his first child, coaching a full squad and training for his 2nd trip to the Ironman World Championships. This full plate may seem overwhelming but he is thriving, even having time to post good humored and informative reviews here.
